School of Sport and Health,whichdated fromBasic TheoryCourseSection founded in 1960and then evolved from Basic Theory Department to College of SportBasic Science, was set up by integratingfour specialtiesofHuman Movement Science,Exercise Rehabilitation, Special Educationand Applied Psychology in July 2016 in Shandong Sport University.

College of Sport and Health has four provincial first-class specialties, a provincial key discipline named human movement science and six provincial first-class courses.In November 2016, Special Education SpecialtyGroup (including Human Movement Science,Exercise Rehabilitationand Applied Psychology) was approved as the High-level Applied SpecialtyGroupCultivation ConstructionProjectof Shandong Province.The Human Movement Science Teaching Team was awardedas theProvincial Excellent Teaching Team in 2012, and the Scientific Research Team on SportandHealth Promotion as the HuangDanian Type TeacherTeam in 2018by the EducationDepartmentof Shandong Province.College of Sport and Healthwas approvedas the Provincial Talent Cultivation Model Innovation Experimental Areain 2012 andthe Provincial Collaborative Innovation Centerin 2020,withtwo provincial key laboratories of the EducationDepartment.

College of Sport and Health has theProvincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Human Movement Science, exercise rehabilitation laboratory, special education professional laboratory, psychological laboratoryand so on,amount to 26 different types of laboratories,to conduct the experimental teaching work and scientific research.There are building area of 3900 square meters, instruments and equipment valued at more than 32million yuan.

The faculty are engaged in basic and applied research in sport science, and have a strong scientific researchcomprehensive strength. In recent years, they have undertaken 2 national research projects, 10 research projectsof the National Sport General Administration and 26 provincial research projects. 211 papers have been published in journals of all levels, of which more than 30 have been included by SCI.  2 first-class and 2 third-class prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award,2 third-class prizes of Science and technology Award of Chinese Sports Science Societyhave been granted.

In sport and health promotion, monitoring of sport training, sport and health care, rehabilitation of sport injury, national fitness guidance, special education, sportpsychological intervention and other fields, certain breakthroughs have been obtained.A batch of research projects have been approved and obtained achievementswith the very bright theory and application prospects.

By means of thestrengthened integration of teaching and research teams, a teacher team has been cultivated with strong teaching, research and innovation capabilities. So far,there are 72 teachers, 21 professors,16 associate professorsand 26 doctors,withreasonableeducational background, professional title, ageand distribution of graduation universities. Among them, there are 1 member of National Talent Plan, 2 National Excellent Teachers, 1 Young Expert of Taishan Scholar, 1 Teaching Master of Shandong Province, 1 Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution of Shandong Province, 6 doctoral supervisors and 28 master's supervisors.

Co-cultivation of discipline leader and specialtyleader, joint development of scientific research team and teaching team, integration of academic research and course construction, combination of disciplineplatform and teaching laboratory, unifieddevelopment ofdiscipline direction and specialty characteristichave been implemented to promote the coordinated development of disciplinesand specialties and the positive interactionof scientific research and teaching, to realize organic integration of scienceand education, to establish an effective mechanism to support specialty construction and talent cultivationby high-level scientific research.The two-way exchange mechanism of mutual employment/mutual occupation has been actively explored between professional teachers and enterprise talents, and remarkable resultshave been achieved on double-qualified and double-capable teacherteam.

College of Sport and Health fulfills the development concept of dockingrequirement,collaborative innovation,gathering characteristics. Teachers and students go out of campus to serve competitive sport, national fitness, medical care and health, sport and medicine integration and other related industries, resulting in students' practical abilityimprovement,remarkable service achievement and high social reputation.
